Beekeeping Link Dump

The accumulation of this detritus is getting out of hand!
So much info, so little time.

Can Comparison

On the Minnesota NFA FB group, a guy posted a link to an Arfcom thread and YT video of a comparison of a bunch of popular rifle suppressors.  Very cool.  Apparently the Rugged Surge, Dead Air Sandman, or Silencerco Omega are the ones to consider.

My Kinda Gal

Meg Turney's frustrated sing-songy outburst:

"Why did you shut off, you fuckin' piece of shit / Gonna replace you with a fuckin' PC!"

Been there before.  Redheads are trouble, though.  Been there before, too.

Hot Shots 2013

I have the calendar hanging in my office.  Hell yeah.

The videos are amusing, though, because the models are quite different when not 'shopped.  And personality counts too, right?

There's a behind the scenes video as well as three other mini-interviews with two models each: Rosie Jones & India Reynolds, Kelly Hall & Sam Cooke, and Holly Peers & Emily O'Hara.

[Links NSFW] I have to say that Kelly Hall (!) looks the best non-pinup, and has the least obtrusive accent!  Followed by perhaps Emily O'Hara (!) and India Reynolds (!).

Edit [2013.06.29]: Rosie Jones isn't bad after all.  Must've been her makeup in the above YT video.

Ice Fishing Safety

WMH at work sent me some YouTube links [1 2 3] on how to survive after falling through ice.

.950 JDJ in Action!

American Specialty Ammo posted a picture of a .950 JDJ rifle on Facebook (in which I had a passing interest), and one commenter linked to a YouTube video of the rifle actually being fired.  Talk about bad-ass!

If I could only afford one larger-than-half-inch-bore rifle, I think I'd have to take the .950 JDJ over 20 mm.  I mean, just think of the incredible amusement in having a .950-caliber (24.1 mm) firearm that's not Title II!

Split Tongue

Don't ask me how I found it.  The YouTube channel of the infamous split tongue chick, that is.  No recent posts, though--perhaps due to a mod gone awry...?

Federer Lindor Commercial

While the wife watching the Sony-Ericsson Open, we saw the Lindt commercial with Federer.  I fly fairly regularly and have grown to despise the TSA, but that's some funny stuff.  The 30-second version is on YouTube, as well as an extended version (which is even better).  There's even a behind the scenes video!

Obama's Halo

A while back, I saw seen an index photo of a bunch of press shots of Obama with a halo.  I haven't been able to find the same picture recently, but I did find a page showing a bunch of the original images.  No media bias, none whatsoever.

Have they forgotten that Obama said himself that he'd be a one-term president if he didn't turn the economy around in three years?  We'll see, eh?

Orson Welles' Tesla Short

A friend pointed me to an interesting YouTube video of a dramatization of the decision to use A/C power for Niagara Falls.  Orson Welles plays J.P. Morgan, although I don't think that he controlled the decision to us the A/C system.

Cut Shells

Found this one on Sipsey St. and bookmarked it on YT, but forgot to add it here: "The lost art of 'cut shells'"...wisdom indeed!

How to Win Political Arguments

I haven't watched this video yet, but it sounds interesting.  Also from AJE.

I'm the Only One Professional Enough

Apparently the origin for the "Only Ones" referred to in David Codrea's War on Guns blog is a video of Lee Paige, a DEA agent who shoots himself during a safety demonstration at a school, right after he says he's "the only one professional enough" in the room to carry a Glock .40.  Brilliant.

Chinese Multiplication

Joel sent me a link to a YT video, which demonstrates a visual method of multiplication that is purportedly used by the Chinese.  Pretty funky.  I need an explanation of why it works....

Keep Tube

I was using TubeSock to download YouTube videos, but it doesn't handle the high-resolution MP4 versions. Thus I found a site called Keep Tube that acts as a gateway to pick up the MP4 stream. The direct URL is:
http://keep-tube.com/?url=XXX
XXX should be the YouTube "watch" URL.

Saiga-12

I've been interested in the Saiga-12 for a while because magazine-fed shotguns are hard to come by. The manufacturer, Izhmash, has a PR video that has been posted to YouTube. There's also a site dedicated to information about the Saiga-12.

According to Wikipedia, Izhmash is facing bankruptcy due to the global recession.

Guide to YouTube

Hmm, I've had this tab open in Firefox for a month now and I'd like to close it.... C|net's An Expert's Guide to YouTube has some interesting tips and tricks that may or may not be useful.
